Which GRP grating do I need?

GRP open mesh grating: 38 x 38mm mesh in 25mm, 38mm and 50mm thicknesses, the standard choice for walkways, platforms, trench covers and drainage areas.
GRP mini mesh grating: a much finer mesh from 14mm to 38mm thick, more comfortable underfoot and stops small items falling through.
GRP covered top grating: a solid gritted surface for mezzanines and riser covers where nothing can be allowed through.

How much does GRP grating cost?

A 25mm open mesh panel starts at £120.00 ex VAT, and our best-selling 38mm open mesh starts at £182.00 ex VAT, which works out at about £92.05 per square metre. What is the difference between open mesh, mini mesh and covered top grating?

Open mesh has a 38 x 38mm grid that lets water and debris drain straight through, and it is the standard choice for walkways and platforms. Mini mesh has a much finer grid, so it is more comfortable underfoot and stops small items falling through. Covered top has a solid gritted surface with no open area, for places where nothing can be allowed to pass through the floor.

How thick should GRP grating be?

It depends on the distance between your supports and the load the floor has to carry. As a guide, 25mm suits pedestrian walkways on short spans, 38mm covers most industrial walkways and platforms, and 50mm is for wider spans and heavier loads. Can you cut GRP grating to size?

Yes. We cut panels to your dimensions from our standard stock sizes, and in most cases the cutting is free. Send us your sizes or a drawing through our GRP grating cut to size service and we will send you a quotation.

How quickly will my GRP grating arrive?

Orders received by 12pm are normally dispatched the same working day on a next working day service, with deliveries between 8am and 6pm, although the delivery date is not guaranteed. Orders over about 100kg travel on a pallet, and pallet deliveries need a forklift on site for items over 2 metres. Is GRP grating suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. GRP does not rust or rot and never needs painting, and the gritted surface keeps its grip in the rain. That is why it is used outdoors on jetties, rail platforms, farms and external walkways as well as inside factories and plant rooms.
